How We Install Stamped Concrete

Stamped concrete takes more time and skill than a standard pour. Here is how we do it:

Step 1: Prep and Base Work

We start the same way we do with any concrete project. We excavate, compact the base, set forms, and add reinforcement. The base needs to be solid because stamped concrete does not hide problems underneath.

Step 2: Pour and Color

We pour the concrete and add color in one of two ways. We can mix the color directly into the concrete, or we can apply a colored hardener on top of the surface. The hardener method gives you more color options and deeper tones.

Step 3: Stamp the Pattern

Once the concrete starts to set but is still workable, we press the stamp mats into the surface. This part requires timing and experience. If we stamp too early, the pattern blurs. Step 4: Seal and Finish
